A Story That Matters
At RumiPixels, we believe stories can do far more than promote businesses. They can preserve history, inspire empathy, strengthen communities, and encourage meaningful conversations.
In 2025, we launched our Annual Community Initiative, a long term commitment to donate our professional filmmaking services each year to organizations and causes creating positive social impact.
We are honoured that Orange Shirt Day became the very first project of this journey.
This film was produced entirely as a volunteer effort. Every stage of the production, from creative planning and filming to editing and post production, was donated by our team with one purpose in mind: helping an important story reach more people.
Why Orange Shirt Day?
Orange Shirt Day is observed across Canada to honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and encourage ongoing conversations about truth and reconciliation.
Every community has stories that deserve to be remembered and shared. As filmmakers, we believe visual storytelling can help preserve those stories and encourage understanding across generations.
Supporting this initiative was an opportunity to contribute our creative expertise to a cause whose message extends far beyond a single day.
The Beginning of an Annual Tradition
Orange Shirt Day 2025 marks the beginning of the Annual Community Initiative at RumiPixels.
Each year, we will dedicate our professional filmmaking services to at least one community organization, nonprofit, educational institution, or cultural initiative whose work creates meaningful social impact.
We hope this growing collection of stories will reflect not only the communities we serve, but also the belief that filmmaking can contribute to education, cultural preservation, and positive change.
We invite you to watch the completed film and learn more about the importance of Orange Shirt Day and the community that made this project possible
Know a Story Worth Sharing?
Every community has stories that deserve to be documented for future generations.
Each year, we hope to partner with organizations whose work inspires positive change. If you know of a meaningful initiative or simply want to connect, we would love to hear from you.
